Neighborhood
Vision Stations – a Houston happening
We have a cause
to celebrate! A new, grassroots effort is bringing affordable eye
care within the reach of Houston’s neediest people.
InFOCUS has
teamed up with community-based organizations, public-spirited
eye doctors, optical companies, and generous Houston donors to establish
VISION STATIONS at ministries, clinics and social service agencies
in low-income neighborhoods. The InFOCUS Vision Station program
is supported by CVO, Inc., the Houston Project of St. Luke’s United
Methodist Church, Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, the Simmons
Foundation and a grant from the Houston Endowment for the InFOCUS
Center for Primary Eye Care Development.
Now needy families
can go to a convenient, familiar place for vision assessment, eye
health information, referral to eye doctors, and low-cost, high-quality
prescription eyeglasses.
